FAQs

  • Your vehicle relies on several essential fluids, including engine oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, coolant, and power steering fluid. These levels can change due to driving habits and weather conditions. To keep your car running smoothly, it’s best to check them at every oil change or at least once a month.

  • Most car batteries last three to five years, but extreme heat or cold can shorten their lifespan. If your engine struggles to start, your headlights seem dim, or your battery warning light appears, it may be time for a replacement. A quick battery test can help determine if you need a new one.

  • Brake pads usually last between 20,000 and 30,000 miles, but their lifespan depends on driving conditions and habits. Signs that they need replacing include squeaking or grinding noises, a longer stopping distance, or a vibrating brake pedal. Ignoring worn-out brake pads can damage your rotors, leading to more expensive repairs.

  • Proper tire pressure improves fuel efficiency, handling, and tire lifespan. The recommended PSI (pounds per square inch) for your vehicle’s tires is usually listed on a sticker inside the driver’s door or in the owner’s manual. Too much air can reduce traction, while too little can cause poor fuel economy or even a blowout.

  • Your car has two important air filters: one for the engine and one for the cabin. A dirty engine filter can reduce performance, while a clogged cabin filter can affect air quality inside your car. Most filters should be replaced every 15,000 to 30,000 miles, but it’s a good idea to check them regularly, especially if you drive in dusty areas.
